Back to the Grindstone

One of the problems with life on life’s terms is that it sometimes involves knockdowns and the occasional TKO. After new medical fun and another hospital visit/stay, I’m coming back up.

 • There should be a couple of new VIRTUAL SPEAKER MEETINGS up by the end of December.
 • In 2009 the ANONYMOUS REVIEW should resume with more focus on the process of AA and 12-Step Recovery. There will be a theme and then comments from many speakers drawn to address that theme. The first theme will be Step One. Or so he says.
 • ADVENTURES IN SPONSORSHIP (the comic strip) turned up too many times on Google, so it was changed. After several options it is now ‘MAZEing RECOVERY’ and several new strips have been posted. It has provoked more comment than either of the podcasts so - maybe I should shift energies?

And the first of the Educational CDs should be ready this spring. A self-paced educational system for detailed study and understanding of various topics - the first release will be on Sponsorship.

Podcast on Cell Phone / Archive #4

Our provider has added cell phone access to the Virtual Speaker meeting. PodBean offers a free subscription to listeners. You can add Virtual Speaker Meeting to your subscriptions, and you can add other podcasts as well.

Several of the podcasts have been moved to our Archive.org site, which can provide a player for you to include VSM on your social networking site (Facebook, MySpace, etc.). Virtual Speaker Meeting Archive 4. For older shows check Archive 1Archive 2 and Archive 3.The full archive of Adventures in Sponsorship are available, and new strips are being posted. I may have to make some changes - a Google search for “Adventures in Sponsorship” turned up a bunch of other entries.

Take a moment a drop me a line … eMail Address. Just wondering if any of the 119 subscribers actually read this.

#36 and Archive #4

#36 is being posted as I write, check the web page. And I am also upload programs 25-36 into Archive #4 at the Archive.org site. I’ll post the new URL with the next podcast.

My statistics say I have 119 subscribers and no one ever writes. Why is that?

I’ve got to get cracking on this…

Podcasts 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35 have been posted, but I hadn’t done anything with the blog. So - if you don’t have the RSS feed, you can go get them … http://vsm.podbean.com.The main webtite now has a link to my “Adventures in Sponsorship” comic strip. Very theraputic for me - maybe you’ll like it.

#29 and #30 are up

But for some reason I’m not seeing them on the Blog.

#29 is Earl H from San diego and has been up for a week or so.#30 is an interesting personal recording from 1987. Bob S. from Santa Monica took a small recorded and did his own take on getting through the 12 steps. Worth a listen.

The podcast page is here.

Sign for Sponsorship?

The next VSM goes up this week, and after the next one, I’ll be offering a complete MP3 disk of Season One on a computer CD. 30 speakers … and I’m going to ask money (gasp). $5 for the CD shipped. While working on the Newcomer and Sponsorship self-paced educational disks, an idea came up. It is for a sign for sponsorship and if you like it, feel free to snag it (option-click on Mac, left click on Windows) and use it. Let me know where you are using it so I can go see. This is a Creative Commons, Noncommercial, No Alterations, Share Alike with Attribution as (anonymousreview.org) … for commercial license, get in touch with me.

VSM #28 - Arbutus O. - Something Different

This Virtual Speaker Meeting is a little different. The speaker is not a member of AA, but a member of the Al-Anon Family Groups with a great message of recovery and the effect of alcoholism on the family, in and out of Recovery.

Revamping the Blog

Well, let’s say that since I’m shifting concentration to the Virtual Speaker Meeting, I going to set up the blog to reflect the idea.

I am not abandoning the Anonymous Review, I am just looking at a more complex production. For example, instead of having a single speaker on the history of the big book, draw from several speakers addressing the same point. The very first Anonymous Review had Bill, Henrietta Seiberling and Dr. Bob discussing the first meeting on Mother’s Day, 1935.

I think some very good programs could be produced on a bunch of topics, but this new process will require a LOT more time.

So, VSM will have the focus, but Anoymous Review is not gone. And some feedback might encourage me to produce more - there has been a total of 1 comment, 2 emails and $0 on the donation button.

A tumbleweed blows across the deserted street.

Anonymous Review on Hiatus

Just making it official. There are lots of things to be done and not enough hours in the day to do it. After 2 years, I’ve decided to only do ONE podcast, and that is Virtual Speaker Meeting. And we are up to #24 with that, Serenity Sam.

Also, there is a Twitter feed to keep up to date; anonymousreview at Twitter, but drop me a line to tell me you want to sign up (I’m getting a lot of spam requests to follow and … huh uh).

Next Virtual Speaker Meeting

Anonymous Review is taking a break, but will be back before too long; probably around the end of summer.

In the meantime, check the new RSS for #23 - Russ K. from Montgomery Alabama. We’ve done a bunch of these podcasts and will make a list downloadable for future reference here.
