I’m not a statisics kind of guy. People say only one in ten, one in twenty, one in 180, drunks get sober with the 12-steps, and the only statistic I am concerned about is One. Do *I* stay sober.
But I did look at the web statistics for the Anonymous Review. Up to 110 hits on one day. Up from a previous high of 23.
So, even if they aren’t giving feedback, some people are out there looking at the site, and hopefully downloading podcasts.
That feels pretty good. I have a lot of not-pretty-good going on in my life, and it is nice to know that somewhere, someone is at least checking it out.
I really would like to hear from people.

I’m not changing the look, but the structure within that design is being refined.
I added links to our primary resources on the left side bar, and buttons (chicklets) to download iTunes and Juice (a really nice, free, cross platform RSS reader), with other links to Yahoo Podcasts, Google Podcasts, our hosting site (Switchpod), the Google podcast agent (FeedBurner), and our website hosting service (1and1). Clever people might find the link for a PayPal donataion (which has resulted in exactly $0 since the podcast began).

(Volume 2, Number 2, Issue 8) For the past several months I have been tweaking two recordings and managed to get something halfway listenable. Like I say on the podcast, people recording in the 1940s or 1950s didn’t tknow that they were going to be in a podcast of the 21st Century. The quality of the recordings is wildly variable. <p>Some recordings were made on old home wax disks, or wire recorders, or primitive tape recorders. Some were actually issued on LP disks and fairly well produced. These tapes were poor from the beginning. But the speaker is important enough to warrant the annoyance of poor sound.
Tonight’s speaker is Ebby Thatcher, the man who brought the message to Bill Wilson. Two talks from Ebby, 1955 and 1961.After those, a real treat. The author has given permisison for me to use his poem “Drunks” on this show. Jack McC is a poet with his home page at Stand Up Poet and you might want to check out buying his CD or seeing him when he visits different locations around the country. This is the longest single podcast I have done to date, but I think this podcast has sufficient meat to justify the extra length.

Over the past year I have had a lot of satisfaction with this podcast. It is clear that it needs to be approached on a more serious/respectful level.
The ‘cast needs a schedule. My target is a minimum of one per month, on the 16th of each month, until the end of the year.
In January it will go to a minimum of two times per month, and *IF* I can do more, I will.
The ‘cast will continue to focus on the personalities of early recovery, and there are other things I want to do.
Right now I am collecting talks on the Steps. My intent is to extract fifteen or twenty speakers talking about how they approach each step and produce them into documentary style podcasts for download. Maybe an hour per show, so it may take several shows to cover one step
A similar thing would be by topic; prayer, serenity, family, forgiveness, etc.
I also want to provide some resources for Sponsorship so I am taking about 9 differentt talks about sponsorship and produce a similar documentary. There are also whole talks and files I want to make available, so I will start a disk service. Almost everything is available on the web and those URLs will be made available on that side, but I will offer to burn a disk with these materials for some fee - like $5 shipped Media Mail in the US, or 5 for $20.
But the most important change is the podcast is that I will stop “winging it.” To this point I hae just rurned on the recorder and chatted as things came to mind. Improvisation. For the programs after #8 I am going to do a simple script and read it - just like I used to do on the electric radio.
It is clear to me that this podcast project is for me and it keeps me focused and sober. It is my hope that others can get someting of value from the shows. The ancillary productions are just an extension of that desire.
One day I may grow beyond desire.
I haven’t done so yet.
